November 28, 2012

Dear Mr. Cook,

I truly believe our class would benefit from having several iPads to use in our classroom. Our classroom could use the iPads to continue our learning by having a station to use technology. We could use the iPads to research questions or topics in all subject areas. Our class could use the iPads to also blog about our learning on our classroom blog. The classroom could blog about what we’re learning in school on the iPads.
We could blog about how we’re doing to our parents and teachers and about our days and grades. The teachers could also learn something from us and might consider doing it.
If we get a station it would probably have math, science, social studies, and book apps. We can read,
Type, search question, and we can publish pieces on line on our classroom blog to share our learning. I would personally use the chance of getting a perfect score.
To learn more about something I don’t already know. So when a test comes I will have a better chance of getting a perfect score.
Students could use the iPads to do research on topics they are writing about. Our class could look up information in small groups or independently. One way we can use the iPads is during our reading workshop time.
We could do a fund raiser with our community to raise the money we need to purchase the iPads. Our class could do a Christmas fund raiser where we could sell Christmas ornaments, baked goods, jingle bells, and hand-made-Christmas cards by kids. Please consider donating a couple of iPads to our classroom.

Sincerely,
Tyler o.
